Kentucky State Championship

February 7, 2026

In the Community

Community Outreach is an important part of our season. We have demoed our robot at Classical Conversations of Lexington homeschool co-op, invited local homeschool groups to our practice and build area for a Homeschool STEM Day, and participated in UK Engineering Day by demonstrating our competition robot and allowing the public to drive our outreach bot. Overall, we have reached 5115 people!

East League Championship

(Challenger Learning Center of Hazard Ky)

On January 8th, 2026, we participated in the East League Championship where the FTC teams in Eastern Ky competed to find out who would move onto the Kentucky State Championship. We won first place overall, being part of a finalist alliance and receiving INSPIRE award first place!

Hosting Xerox Lexmark Bluegrass

FIRST Lego League Qualifying Tournament

(Lexington Kentucky)

We hosted the Xerox Bluegrass FIRST Lego League Qualifying Tournament and recruited 40 volunteers to run the event. This tournament determined which Lego League teams moved on to their state championship. 'Lectric Legends team members volunteered as judges, referees, judging queuer, emcee, table re-setters, and sound board operators. Team members also built 60 Lego mission models and learned the Unearthed FLL game, as well as prepared for the tournament by creating signage, name tags, awards, etc. We proudly displayed our blue and green tie-dye brand from our shirts to the tablecloths.

Mentors

Many mentors who are experienced in the STEM community have helped us throughout the season. We went on field trips to places like Valvoline Global and Toyota Motor Manufacturing to learn about STEM related work. We also set the goal of finding eleven mentors to give eleven lightning talks in honor of our eleventh season. So far, we have done eight of these talks, and they have been about projectile motion, systems engineering, and more. Mentors from companies such as Lockheed Martin and NASA have participated. We have also mentored newer teams.
